Lazy Day

Well, it's been a busy week and thankfully a lazy day. Abba's excitement for the week was cutting a little over 3 inches off of her hair. It does look really cute. Of course, it's still long but it took off that last little bit of blonde baby curl. Hopefully this will help with the tangles and everyday struggle of styling her hair. Matthew's excitement for the week was a new transformer. Oh my gosh, not like he needed another one but they prescribed him penicillin 4 times a day for 10 days for his strep throat. The toy was our way of bribing him to take all his meds because he said it tasted nasty. It's not like Mark and I were going to taste it for him because we are both highly allergic to Penicillin. Mark wouldn't even poor it out of the bottle into a measuring spoon. Matthew did develop a rash 2 days into the scrip so we had them switch it over to Zithromax. With our allergy history we weren't going to "wait and see" if he had any other symptoms so needless to say he got to get the good tasting medicine for 5 days and a transformer since we had already promised it.
Thursday I finally decided to paint the laundry room. Thanks to Whitney for motivating me. So Friday Abba and I went to Lowe's and bought paint and spent Friday morning painting. It's not a cute Lime Green it's just Bungalow Gold like the rest of the house. Of course, I don't have any cute decorations either but if/when I do I'll post for you to see.
Saturday was crazy busy, Annie came over and we planned her bridal shower and picked out shoes for the brides maid dresses. Dad came over and hung my new light fixture in the entry way. It's so much better than the original/outdated one that came with the house. I also baked 6 loaves of cinnamon bread, folded & dispersed 4 loads of laundry, made all the beds, cooked beans all day, made cornbread and homemade beef enchilada's for dinner and still managed to keep my sanity. Whew it was like a marathon. A lot got done but the kids and I stayed in our pajamas all day. So today after church and a quick trip to the grocery store we came home and relaxed all day. Between legos and naps, books and making cookies I'm glad we took the day to rest. I'm not even going to iron.
In one of the kids prayer books Matthew received from his great grandmother when he was an itsy baby there are prayers for every letter in the alphabet. My prayer for today
Qq Quiet
Thank you God for quiet times, sometimes quiet is best. Amen

It is good to hear that you have slowed down some:) You mean I did not inspire you to paint? Glad you took a day of rest for yourself.

I wish I could just paint one morning - Whatever! - it would turn into a weekend disaster, I'm sure. You need a lazy day every once in a while, I'm glad you took one. Your house looks great!
